Musical gallery
We thought it might be nice to put together some musical items from the present day and years past from our wonderful pupils at Penrhos, Rydal, and Rydal Penrhos.
We intend to make this a regular feature in the Rydal Penrhos Society Newsletter, and so if you have any requests for musical items, or for particular historic performances that may have been recorded, please just get in touch and let us know.
The School is enormously proud of its musical heritage, which has promoted self-expression and has lent generations of pupils the confidence to flourish in front of an audience.
We begin with a recent promotional video from the Prep, where finding your voice is part of the timetable!

We recently rediscovered some musical items in the archives from the Penrhos College Choir in the 1990s, which we converted into MP3 files and put together into a virtual performance for you to enjoy.
The Choir were led by the exceptional Kay Arthur, who taught singing and the organ, inspiring an abundance of Penrhos College pupils who went on become music teachers themselves.
Were you part of the Choir? We would love to know!

Finally, we are sharing a piece from Tegid Goodman Jones, a former pupil, performed as part of a socially distanced 100th birthday celebration at a nearby residential home.
Tegid also performed at a recent virtual fundraiser organised by Ty Gobaith’s, which raised £30,000 for the charity.
