How to share news, feedback, and reminiscences; plus more alumni news!
If you have news to share, reminiscences you would like to feature in the next newsletter, or any feedback, ideas, or comments regarding the Society's activities, please just get in touch with Hannah Patrick, the alumni secretary – she would be delighted to hear from you.
You can get in touch at hpatrick@rydalpenrhos.com or by calling 01492 530155 or writing to the Alumni Office, or you can also send an email to alumni@rydalpenrhos.com.
Would you like to come along to the Rydal Penrhos Society's next Annual General Meeting in September? All alumni are welcome, and you can make your voice heard in guiding the direction of the Society for the year ahead.
Would you like to organise a reunion? We would be delighted to help you organise your own year-group reunion to take place either on School premises or elsewhere. Please drop a line to Hannah so that she can liaise with you!
Finally, Hannah is delighted to share two more pieces of news from alumni.
The first is from Peter Gibson (RS 59–65), who writes,
Peter Gibson (Rydal ’59 to ’65) and Andrew Butterworth (Rydal ’56 to ’66) became close friends during their time at school and spent many hours generally “putting the world to rights”. Their friendship continues to this day; enjoying long walks in the Cotswolds (where they both live); joined by their wives of over 50 years and still “putting the world to rights”.
The second is from Rachel Smyth, reporting that her father John Smyth (RS 42–50), Head of Rydal Prep School between 1978 and 1981, turned 90 on 7 November 2021. Three days before, John and his wife celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary.
We congratulate John, Rachel, and the rest of the family on these very special milestones.
