Christmas Dinner
Spectacular Prep and Senior festive feasts!
Senior Christmas Dinner
Merely 48 hours on from the Christmas Fair, the Rydal Penrhos Catering Team orchestrated a spellbinding transformation, turning the historic Osborn Hall into a magical dining room for this year's Senior Christmas Dinner. Responding to the pupils' request for a Christmas Lunch inspired by JK Rowling's wizarding world, the Catering Team exceeded all expectations, infusing the final day of term with a touch of magic.
The refectory tables were meticulously arranged for the four school houses – Morgan, Osborn, Wesley, and Payne – with the tables bearing each house's unique crest. Candles, seemingly levitating in mid air, bathed the hall in a magical glow, while a bubbling cauldron added extra enchantment.
Before entering the Osborn Hall, pupils and staff lined up in their houses, then entered the hall with expressions of astonishment and wonder. Mr Hutchinson extended a warm welcome, followed by the School Chaplain, Rev'd Dr Beamish, offering a blessing.
In a great display of teamwork, teachers and staff volunteered to take a leading role in service, delivering the dishes to pupils. This included the dessert - a tasty chocolate yule log!
Many thanks go to the Catering Team for bringing this extraordinary vision to life. The event was not just a feast for the senses but a magical celebration of the school's community spirit, marking a splendid beginning to the Christmas holidays.
Prep Christmas Dinner
Rydal Penrhos Prep School embraced the festive spirit with a delightful Christmas Dinner on Tuesday 12 December.
After a bustling morning at the Secrets Room, pupils, teachers, and staff gathered in the Prep Dining Room; each year group finding their place to relish the meal.
As in the Senior School, our teachers, including Principal Mr. Hutchinson, played a pivotal role in service.
Following the scrumptious Christmas dinner, the timeless tradition of singing to the Christmas pudding was observed, reminding us of the rich traditions that surround the festive period, and our school.
