Rydal Penrhos unaffected by national strikes
With strike action gripping the country on Wednesday 1 February, Rydal Penrhos operated as normal with pupils embarking on a full and undisturbed day of lessons, sports, clubs and more.
The impact of the NEU's decision to strike has been felt by thousands of children across Wales, with swathes of primary and secondary schools across the nation closing their doors for the day. Thankfully, Rydal Penrhos did not suffer the same fate, allowing our children and young people to benefit from the school's first-rate educational provision as normal.
The good news was announced by Executive Principal John Waszek in a letter to parents. In the letter, Mr Waszek said:
"I am writing to confirm that Rydal Penrhos School will be operating as normal on Wednesday 1 February. All pupils should attend school including extra-curricular sessions as on a typical Wednesday. All bus pick up and drop off times, for pupils who use school transport, will be as usual.
“For Years 10 to 13 we are now entering the important run-up period for A Level and GCSE examinations, and high attendance is especially important to seek to secure the very best grades possible.”
Everyone at Rydal Penrhos was delighted to have our pupils in school, continuing their studies with the level of hard work and determination that we see each and every day.
