Year 8 shines during STEM event
Year 8 pupils got the opportunity to take part in a STEM initiative taking the country by storm this week.
Rydal Penrhos welcomed members from the IET Faraday Challenge, which is a special initiative being run in association with the UK Research and Innovation (UKRI) this year.
The challenge, which took place in the Osborn Hall, was based on aviation engineering. Teams raced against the clock to solve a real-life engineering problem, putting their engineering and technology knowledge and skills to the test.
Natalie Moat, IET Faraday education manager, said: “Students who take part in the Faraday Challenge Days this year will experience working as an engineer through hands-on and practical engagement with real-life challenges relating to modern aviation and drones industry."
