Silcock Salver reaches 25 year milestone
This year we celebrated 25 years of playing for the Silcock Salver. 25 golfers enjoyed the usual format of 18 holes at Maesdu followed by dinner at The Imperial Hotel in Llandudno and then finishing in glorious sunshine at Conwy on the following day.
Ellie Evans played very well and almost retained the Silcock Salver but was beaten by one shot by John Bryan Williams, who was a worthy first-time winner.
The leading scores were:
Silcock Salver
Johnny Williams Cup (guests’ cup)
A remarkable £550 was raised for the Donald Hughes Trust, which provides Fully Funded Places to local disadvantaged children.
- Guy Watson, Rydal Penrhos Society President.
We had 10 players in the end. The course was in excellent condition but definitely testing conditions with the strong wind!
We had three scores over 30 points and the top three were as follows:
Well done to everyone making it round and especially to Matt and David who played exceptionally well in the conditions.
The next event (Pochin Cup) is at Sandiway on Tuesday 13 September.
