A Rydal Penrhos tradition
Representing the first team in your sport is a proud moment for any Rydal Penrhos pupil.
It is the result of both innate talent and years of dedication in practice sessions and fixtures - a theme the Chaplain explored in his message to the Society.
We are proud to boast numerous sporting heroes over the years from Bleddyn Williams to Sean Lonsdale; heroes that we celebrate by hanging their photographs in the commemorative gallery in the Sports Hall and whose faces will no doubt be joined by countless future Rydal Penrhos athletes.
These top sports men and women all started here at Rydal Penrhos where they followed the challenging path to a first team cap before moving on in some cases to Olympic, national or international competition. They are a true inspiration to our pupils today.
The Rydal Penrhos Colours Awards saw first-team players honoured with their team’s respective colours while also allowing parents and pupils to view this year’s first team photographs, which were presented in the Osborn Hall.
The Colours Awards Evening was the first major event held in the Osborn Hall since its refurbishment and its success only added to the excitement around the potential uses of the hall moving forward.
Founders Day in September will be an excellent opportunity for you all to see the space fully restored. We wish to open our arms to all of our alumni for the Founders Weekend and especially but not exclusively the leavers of 1952, 1962, 1972, 1982, 1992, 2002, 2012 and 2022.
With that in mind, we have compiled some first-team photographs for your viewing, including the brand new shots of this year's teams.
