Lucinda Hold (RPS 1998-2007)
Lucinda Hold was a pupil at Rydal Penrhos between 1998 and 2007. She was very much involved in all aspects of school life and was appointed Head Girl in 2007.
Lucinda kindly shares with us her life after Rydal Penrhos.
If at first, you don't succeed......
Throughout her time at Rydal Penrhos, Lucinda demonstrated her passion for a career in Dentistry. Unfortunately, her sixth form application was unsuccessful and she was subsequently offered a place to study Biomedical Sciences at King's College London where she obtained a BSc and MSc.
Alongside her university studies, Lucinda completed the National Diploma in Dental Nursing and worked part-time as a dental nurse.
Her dream of becoming a dentist was not over and in 2013, on the third attempt, Lucinda was offered a place at Leeds University. After qualifying as a dentist in 2018, she now works happily for the NHS in the West Midlands.
Lucinda shares a few words of advice for those applying for a course they are passionate about: "Stand out from a crowd, be interesting, don't put all your eggs in one basket, but most importantly, if at first you don't succeed, try, try, again."
Mortgage, marriage and motherhood...
Following her graduation, Lucinda married and moved to the West Midlands to be with her husband, a general practitioner.
The couple purchased their first home together this year and celebrated the birth of their first child, Siyana (born 2 May at 7lbs, 13oz).

In 2015 Annette Droste and I acted as each other’s maid of honour in our marriages.
We are also godparents to our first-born children.
My son Andrew was born in 2016 and albeit prematurely is now very well whilst Annette gave birth to a healthy daughter, Clara, last January who recently celebrated her first birthday.
